Meet Dr. Josephine Ma - The Heart Behind Face Factor Aesthetics
Leading our team is Dr. Josephine Ma, whose journey from medical science to the aesthetic field has been driven by a simple belief - everyone deserves to feel confident in their own skin. Dr. Ma specialises in non-surgical full face rejuvenation, focusing on enhancing your natural beauty with minimal intervention.
A Solid Foundation
Dr. Ma’s path in medicine began with her graduation in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) in 2016 from the University of Aberdeen. From there, her career took a comprehensive route through various facets of the NHS, providing her with a broad medical perspective.
Experience in the NHS
Her experience ranges from working as a Foundation Year Doctor at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to specialising as a Clinical Fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the same hospital. She also gained valuable experience in general practice and several medical specialties at Glasgow Royal Infirmary along with serving as a GP.

Aesthetic Expertise
Dr. Ma’s passion for aesthetics is backed by targeted training and practice. In 2016 she has completed foundational and advanced courses in Botox and Dermal Fillers, as well as masterclasses in facial contouring and PDO thread lifts. These skills have been honed under respected figures in the aesthetic medicine field, such as Dr. Zack Alley and Dr. Jacques Otto.

Since founding Face Factor Aesthetics & Wellbeing in 2018, Dr. Ma has been dedicated to offering tailored, non-surgical solutions for full face rejuvenation. Our clinic, registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, prioritises safe, effective treatments that respect your individuality.

Dr. Ma believes in the power of education and dialogue, actively sharing her knowledge and insights on our social media, online and in-clinic. It's her way of keeping the conversation about aesthetics open, accessible, and engaging.

Consultation process
At Face Factor, we understand that every client is unique and has specific aesthetic goals. That's why we take a personalised approach to treatment and begin every consultation with a thorough discussion of your concerns and desires.

During your consultation, we will assess your skin and facial structure, and discuss the various treatment options available to you. We will explain the benefits and risks of each treatment, and help you determine the best course of action to achieve your desired results.

We encourage you to bring in any photos or examples of the look you hope to achieve, as this can help us better understand your goals. We will also discuss your medical history and any potential contraindications to treatment.

At the end of your consultation, you will have a clear understanding of the recommended treatment plan and what to expect during and after your procedure. We are here to answer any questions you may have and to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in your decision.
